Meet Natalie! Class of 20 SIXTEEN! GRADUATING TOMORROW!!!

Friday, May 20, 2016

Natalie is pretty much the whole package.  She's smart (headed to UGA this fall), witty, compassionate, & adorable!!   Having moved 10 times throughout her life, she's a latecomer to Georgia but settled in quite well. I can't imagine how hard it would be to move to a new high school your sophmore year.  I would have rebelled & ended up with the wrong crowd doing wrong things.  Natalie, though, rose to the ocassion, making loads of new friends, becoming the star Lax player, co editor of the yearbook, an honor student, and an all around classy girl.  Wow.  Perseverence & hard work does pay off! Her shoot was awesome!  She had several different looks and we managed to capture them all before the sun went down! Some of my favorite shots are below!
Natalie, I'm glad to know you and wish you all the best things in life cause you deserve them!  I have no doubt you will soar at UGA!  Congratulations on graduating tomorrow!  You did it Girl!!

Meet Josie! Class of TWENTY16 Grad!

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Cool-a word we used back in the day.  Not really sure what word today would mean the same thing, but no matter.  That was my first impression of Josie. Cool.
Her demeanor, her style, her look.
We started outside at her house shooting by a huge tree with loads of character (yes, trees have character) & then some on her porch (equally amazing character).  After a quick wardrobe change, we walked over to her neighbor's 'shack'(I kid).  Part of the property used to be gardens.  Over grown now, but you could still imagine them in their grandeur. Then we came to the house. If you like Southern history & early 1900's homes that stir up the imagination, this was the holy grail. It was truly something you'd see in the movies...Immediately it reminded me of Grey Gardens (must check it out-true story) It was stunning.
Josie, you killed your session!  Really, some amazing shots that I love, but especially swoon in black & white.  Thank you for letting me hang out and shoot your senior pics!  I'm so excited for you this next year!  Congrats on Graduation & I can't wait to see what fabulous things you do at UGA and out in the big world!!  I know your Mom & Dad are proud!

Meet Wesley...Class of 2016 music extraordinaire

Sunday, May 15, 2016

I love music.  Truth.  So when Wesley wanted me to shoot her senior pictures, I was giddy with excitement!  We went downtown to shoot outdoors & shot a couple inside the Miller theater.  Epic.  The location was on point complete with tasteful graffiti (who knew?) and paint worn walls.  The light was gorgeous, as well!  Wesley is a wicked violist, for sure.  I asked her to play something & the sound & tone was pure, as close to a spiritual experience as you can get standing in an alleyway in a sketchy hood.  So much talent wrapped up with charm, wit & intelligence makes for a limitless future for this girl!
Wesley, I'm so glad I got to shoot you!  Your going places girl!  I've no doubt your faith will keep you grounded when you make it big, but tip:  remember the little people, ie., me!  hehe!
Good luck at UGA -you'll be playing first chair in no time (if you're not already!)
Here are a few of my faves from her session. (make up & hair by Cameron McCormack on outdoor shots)
