Friends & graduation.

Saturday, May 21, 2016

Squad.  Tribe.  My people.  These are all terms referring to your friends. If you were lucky enough to have a group of close friends throughout your past four years of high school, then you might have mixed feelings about graduation.  I mean, you shared some of the most important years of your life with these people and now everything is about to change.

Urban dictionary defines 'friends' as
"people who are aware of how retarded you are & still manage to be seen in public with you.
People who make you laugh till you pee your pants. People who cry for you when one of your special items disappear.
People who when you don't have enough money to get a ice cream, they chip in."
and this one, " People who would never make you cry just to be mean."

Those are pretty much on point.  Some of the best friends in life are your high school friends.  All those crazy, goofy, scary things y'all did?  you'll have those memories for the rest of your life. Those cliche things they tell you at graduation, like how high school being the best time of your life?  It's pretty much true.  Sure, after graduation, everyone goes their separate ways.  Life is constantly changing and people move on.  Memories, though, are constant.  The smells, the music, the feelings- they will be with you always.

So, tomorrow at graduation, celebrate! Let your parents take as many pictures as they want!  Let your Mom cry.  And hug your friends tight.  Tell them how special they are to you and that you love them.  Thank them for being your friend and thank God for putting them in your life.

Meet Anne Sutton!! Graduating class of TWENTY16!

Friday, May 20, 2016

You've heard "though she be but little, she is fierce", right?  (i think it's shakespeare, or drake, haha)  Well, Anne Sutton is that and more!  She's fun to hang with, & has an uncanny way of looking adorable & drop dead gorgeous within a matter of seconds!  In love with her fab hair & those   freckles, though! swoon!!  Her smile is contagious & I'm so glad I got to shoot her!!
We started out downtown, found some gorgeous light on the steps of a building we were driving by on the way to her church where we were planning on shooting.  Sometime's you just have to stop when you see great light!
We shot next at the church she grew up in and though it was windy, we got some gorgeous shots!  I love it when we incorporate a special location into a senior's shoot.  She & her parents will have a more personal connection to those shots because of the location.
Last we headed to the country for some laid back shots.  Cameron added a braid that fit in perfectly with AS's outfit & the location!
Anne Sutton, you are amazing!  Thank you for choosing me to shoot your Senior Portraits!  I am super happy for you as you graduate tomorrow and no that you will do amazing things in your life! Congratulations, fierce one! {make up & hair by Cameron McCormack}
-Here are some of my faves from her shoot!
